This could be an incubator of controversy. (LOL - hate to point it out but that's a rather incredible pun for anyone in the know)
PR campaigns notwithstanding; the oil patch guys are standing on the correct side of the fence with the royalty issue.
The Royalty Review Panel has produced a report that is long on "telling us" rather than transparently showing how its calculations and methodology, uses incorrect and dated data, and makes Orwellian use of language to make its points. It doesn't reflect by far the majority of the input it received at public hearings. Indeed its proposals go BEYOND any public input I've seen.
